Electronic Music I

ELECTRONIC MUSIC I: This course is an introduction to the integration of electronics into the world of music performance.  Students will learn the basics of acoustics & sound, sequencing (composing with MIDI technology), and sampling (recording digital audio).  The class will allow students opportunities to compose music with state-of-the-art technology.  Electronic Music 1 will include discussions of the historical development of the electronic music genre.  Music theory & performance experience is helpful but not required.  Theory review will be included in the coursework as needed.
