Scholastic Art and Writing Award Winners

Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized creative teens throughout the country for almost 100 years. The Scholastic Awards judge work for originality, showing technical skill, and demonstrating the emergence of a personal voice or vision.   Andy Warhol, Robert Indiana, Ken Burns and Amanda Gorman are all famous creatives who have won Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.  ZCHS is proud to announce that two of our students had works chosen to receive Scholastic Awards this year.  Lee-Ann Kao received 3 Gold Key Awards and is an American Visions nominee.  Max Robinson received two Honorable Mention Awards.  Gold Key works automatically advance to national judging.  In New York City, creative professionals review Gold Key works from across the country.  American Vision awards are Gold Key winners nominated as best in the region.  Art teacher Brenda Jalaie said “These two students have always pushed the bar and now they are being recognized for their excellence by people outside of our community.”  Congratulations to Lee-Ann and Max!
