Modern Band

MODERN BAND:  is a course designed for music hobbyists that want to improve their ability to play alone and with others.  Vocalists, guitarists, keyboardists, percussionists and others are welcome.  Students will learn to better read music (notation and tablature), collaborate with other musicians, emulate master performers, and participate in live performance.  The course experience will vary depending upon the enrollment.  Students will be involved in solo and ensemble practice and performance.  Students will experience a semester-ending “concert” to feature their work.  Modern Band is not designed for beginners, students with no experience on an instrument.  Students should have the ability to play their instrument independent of teacher instruction prior to enrolling.
