Ceramics II
CERAMICS II: Students will approach more complex challenges both in clay techniques and in communicating ideas through the clay medium. Hand building methods are continued and wheel throwing is introduced. Emphasis is on the use of design principles, historic ceramic traditions from around the world, and creative problem solving skills. Reading, writing, and research are involved. Students will be responsible for developing an online portfolio to showcase their work and will be accompanied with written artist statements. Sketchbook and research assignments are a part of this course.
