APEX is a semester course that will focus on developing new ways of thinking, honing soft skills, and extending academic progress. It is intended to cultivate leadership skills, community partnerships, and an innovative growth mindset. Through self-guided explorations, research, and reflection, students will gain a greater understanding of themselves as learners, problem-solvers, and contributing members of society.
APEX students will be empowered to design and implement a project of their choosing either solo, or in groups of no more than three. A written proposal including a confirmed expert mentor is needed for approval to move forward. Upon completion of the projects, students will reflect on their experiences in a paper as well as conduct “TED Style” presentations to key stakeholders.
