Dual Credit Opportunities

ZCHS students may earn both high school and college/university credit by enrolling in dual credit courses.

Students may enroll in a dual credit course available at ZCHS or students may take a course at a college or university that ZCHS may recognize.  Prior approval is required for a course taken at a college or university to be counted toward a student's ZCHS diploma (see Transfer of Credits in the course description book.)  In either case the student is responsible for any tuition involved.  Most dual credit opportunities have college admission requirements that may include SAT scores, GPA thresholds, and age minimums.    ZCHS offers the following dual credit courses:  business foundations (ZCHS 7005, 7006), cadet teaching (8503, 8504), computer applications (ZCHS 7015, ZCHS 7016) and entrepreneurship (7023, 7024.)

J. Everett Light Career Center:  www.jelcc.com

Zionsville Community High School, in an agreement with Washington Township Schools, offers students the opportunity to begin attending vocational/career classes on a part time basis at JEL. Students must earn at least a “B” grade for each of the semesters to qualify for college credit.   These courses “count” towards the Academic or Technical Honors Diploma.
